Technology Requirements

The computer hardware and the Internet connection that you use are an important means of accessing course information and thus are significant contributors to academic success at Cornerstone University. It is essential that students have ready access to a computer* with Internet access that meets the following minimum specifications (also be sure to check that you have the right software -see below):

NOTE:  It is not essential that you know what these specifications mean, so if you do not know if your computer meets the minimum requirements, refer to the manual that came with your computer when you purchased it.

* Cornerstone University is a Windows PC-based school, therefore we are not able to actively support MacIntosh or Linux based computers.

Software Requirements

It is essential that students have ready access to a computer that meets the minimum hardware requirements, and that has the following software installed:

§ Assignments must be completed in Microsoft Office 97/2003 compatible file format. If you are able to save and open Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files (doc, xls, ppt) you should be able to participate in coursework. OpenOffice.org is a free office suite that is capable of saving and viewing these file types.
