The Associate of Science in Human Services (ASHS) program is a 62 credit-hour program designed to teach students how to meet human needs through an interdisciplinary knowledge base. It focuses on prevention as well as remediation of problems and maintaining a commitment to improving the overall quality of life within service populations.
Developed through discussion and collaboration with human-service leaders, Cornerstone's ASHS program integrates theory with practical experiential learning through field-based experiences. The program is aligned with the Council for Standards in Human Services (CSHSE) and their Community Support Skills Standards. Courses focus on the development of basic helping skills that will provide services to individuals or groups with diversity needs.
