General Admission Requirements
- A completed application accompanied by a $40 application fee. (non-refundable)
- A baccalaureate degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution with a grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Students not meeting this requirement may submit a written request to the admissions committee for acceptance in the graduate program explaining why they believe they can succeed in the master's program.
- Official transcripts from the college/university from which the student earned his/her bachelor degree(s) as well as official transcripts from any prior graduate level course work. (Cornerstone University graduates do not need to request transcripts for coursework taken at Cornerstone University.)
- Students whose primary language is not English must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 575 from a paper-based test and 231 from a computer-based test.
- A professional resume providing information on the applicant's professional, academic and community achievements.
Additional requirements for MBA or MSM applicants:
- Two letters of professional recommendation on forms provided. One letter must be from the applicant's current employer (an individual with a supervisory or managerial relationship to the applicant) and one from an individual who can comment on the applicant's academic ability.
- A minimum of one year of continuous full time work experience.
OR (for persons with less than one year full time work experience)
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a current supervisor and one from a business faculty member who can comment on the applicant's academic ability.
- A GPA of 3.0 in previous college work.
- Professional resume demonstrating full time employment.
Additional requirements for MA Ed. applicants:
- Two letters of professional recommendation on forms provided. These should be completed by professional educators who are familiar with the applicant's professional or academic achievements.
- A minimum of one year of successful classroom teaching experience (not to include student teaching). Applicants not meeting the one year requirement must provide evidence of significant educational experiences with children which will be reviewed with the prospective student during an interview with the Director of Education Programs.
- A copy of a valid teacher's certification document
Graduation Requirements
- Completion of the Master's program curriculum with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Completion of all requirements within five years of beginning the program.
- Any course with a grade of less than a C- will not count towards graduation and must be repeated.
- Payment of all tuition and fees.
- Graduation application to the Registrar's Office no later than November 1 for December graduates and no later than February 1 for May/August graduates.
Additional requirements for MA Ed.:
- K-8 certified: completion of the subject area workshops
- Secondary certified: completion of the subject area workshops in the areas of certification
