Minimum Technology Requirements
Students enrolled in a Cornerstone University program must have access to a computer and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. E-mail and internet connections are a primary means of participating in courses and are thus necessary and significant contributors to academic success.
High-speed DSL or a cable Internet connection are highly recommended for online classes.
Software Requirements
It is essential that students have ready access to a computer that meets the minimum hardware requirements, and that has the following software installed:
Windows Windows XP (SP3)
Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 2
Java 1.4.2
Microsoft Office 2003 or similar
Mac *
Mac OS X 10.4.3
Microsoft Office 2004 or similar
Mozilla Firefox 2 or higher for Odyssey access. Please note that Safari does NOT work correctly with Odyssey. Firefox can be downloaded for free at www.mozilla.org
Assignments must be completed in Microsoft Office 97/2003 compatible file format. If you are able to save and open Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files (doc, xls, ppt) you should be able to participate in coursework. OpenOffice.org is a free office suite that is capable of saving and viewing these file types.
